Storyboard Slideshow

I also produced a slideshow of this storyboard and added some music, I Am Electric by Heaven's Basement.

Storyboard

This is our storyboard for the title sequence:

Unsuccessful Editing Session

On my very first day at attempting to edit together some scenes, I hit a brick wall as to how to organise our titles. I discovered that I couldn't really rely on our storyboard to help us as, even though I was the one that had drawn it, there had been so many changes since our initial plan that most of the scenes had to be completely rearranged to maintain the plot of our sequence.
After 2 hours of struggling to edit, I ended up with a scene I wasn't very happy with at all.
I then went on to start from scratch the next day, and that is when the sequence started to come together

Unsuccessful Filming Session

On this day, the plan was initially for Harry and his 2 nieces to film the scene that would show children playing in the street. However, unfortunately Harry experienced some difficulty filming this scene, one being that his niece didn't want to be filmed, however after some convincing he did manage to film the scene. Sadly, the shot was taken inside Harry's house and did not fit in with our idea of our sequence.
As a result we all decided that it would not be used within our title sequence.

Fourth Filming Session

On the fourth day of filming, we all met up collectively outside the main entrance of the school before heading to where we planned to film first, this being an alley with private garages off of Berwick rd.

As we went to our location, we met up with Julia and Emily who politely volunteered to aid us in our filming session that day.

On this day we would be filming the scenes that provide the base narrative for the plot of our movie, a dystopian world controlled by an oppressive government. these scenes included:
1) a homeless man begging
2) a Molotov cocktail (fire-bomb) being thrown by Damien
3) a scene of us preparing weapons that represents the protagonist readying himself to rescue his kidnapped daughter

Julia was also a media student, and both Julia and Emily also studied art subjects, so were able to input their own opinions on each scene and help us achieve the shots we were aiming to take. We also experimented with multiple shot types and angles, allowing for me to cut these scenes together when editing to show off our array of skills used when filming and editing. This was probably our most successful day of filming, as we managed to film all of the key scenes for our sequence

Third Filming Session

On this day myself and Harry were attending interventions, so Robert went out and filmed all of the scenes depicted the location/s of our movie. This included back alleys, streets, and forested areas.
I will now refer to Roberts post on this day to document this day:

Robert decided to explore his local area for grimy and beaten appearing areas to include in our sequence, as this is perfect for our sequence's genre. He took photos and video footage with both the rented DSLR and his own Go Pro.

In Roberts words, 'Throughout the day I went around the back alleys of where I live as well as going around the alleys and side-streets around the school area, furthermore I experimented and took video footage of a forestry area north of my home.'

Here are some samples of each location:

Second Filming Session

Execution scene:

Upon watching our execution scene on a monitor, all three of us decided it would be best to reshoot this scene. This scene required multiple takes, as each time we filmed with the go-pro we always ended up accidentally getting unnecessary scenery in the shot that shouldn't have been in the frame. This scenery would constantly distract from the execution itself. We then decided to film it up against a brick wall with barely anything surrounding it. We also decided to use a DSLR camera to capture this scene , as we could then watch our footage back on the spot, rather than having to go back to the Mac rooms to check our footage on an iMac.
When we came to watching this scene on a monitor, however, we noticed that Robert accidentally looked at the camera every so often throughout the scene. I, as editor, then went on to cover this up for the first draft and final sequence of our titles.

Other developments:

Further on in this day, we produced the final copy of our filming schedule, and then proceeding in filming on these days
